Play Therapy

Child Centered Play Therapy (CCPT) is a therapeutic approach in which children can explore their feelings, develop self-awareness, and build coping skills through play.

Children are abstract thinkers. Most people don’t develop abstract thinking until around age 12, which is why play is a preferred treatment method to talk therapy that includes metaphors and abstract concepts.

Play is a child’s natural language; they live in the present and are imaginative. CCPT allows children to process feelings and past experiences in the present moment in their natural language.

Play therapy is evidenced based and has shown favorable outcomes for problems such as anxiety, depression, phobias, and trauma.
