Abby Sillaman, LISW-S, is a licensed independent social worker with supervision designation. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Asbury University in 2007 and her Master’s in Social Work from the University of Chicago in 2011. She has worked extensively with the adult population in a variety of treatment settings, including inpatient psychiatric hospitalization, day treatment group therapy, and outpatient therapy. Additionally, she has worked as an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) counselor specializing in crisis management, stabilization, and solution focused counseling. Her areas of expertise include stress, depression, and suicidal ideation management, anxiety reduction, coping with grief and loss, and providing space and guidance in assessing life events, goals, and transitions. She is both a Trauma Informed and Internal Family Systems (IFS) informed therapist. Her approach in counseling is person-centered, collaborative, and strengths based incorporating elements of Cognitive Behavioral (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral therapies(DBT) as well as Acceptance and Commitment Theory (ACT) and Internal Family Systems (IFS). Abby values the client being in the lead role, providing direction based on their needs. This helps with the client’s own sense of self worth, which, she believes, is at the core of mental wellness. Abby works with individuals 16 and older.
More recently, Abby has stepped into the role of Associate Director of Training at Keller Counseling. She is building and growing our clinical supervisors team to assist and support both dependently licensed clinicians in reaching their independent licensures as well as Masters level student interns in both counseling and social work programs in the State of Ohio
Abby is available for appointments Monday through Thursday.
In her spare time, Abby enjoys Zumba fitness, swimming, being out in nature, and spending time with her husband, friends, family, and her cats.
