Abby Sillaman, LISW-S, is a Licensed Independent Social Worker with Supervision Designation who earned her Master of Social Work degree from the University of Chicago in 2011. She has over a decade of experience working with adults across a variety of treatment settings, including inpatient psychiatric hospitalization, partial hospitalization/day treatment programs, outpatient therapy, and Employee Assistance Programs (EAP).
Throughout her career, Abby has helped individuals navigate depression, anxiety, stress, grief and loss, suicidal ideation, life transitions, and relationship challenges. Her experience as an EAP counselor provided specialized training in crisis intervention, stabilization, and solution-focused counseling.
Abby is Trauma-Informed and Internal Family Systems (IFS)-informed and takes a collaborative, person-centered, and strengths-based approach to therapy. She integrates evidence-based modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS) to meet the unique needs of each client.
Abby believes that meaningful change occurs when clients feel empowered to take an active role in their own growth and healing. She views the therapeutic relationship as a partnership and strives to create a supportive, nonjudgmental space where clients can build insight, strengthen coping skills, and develop greater confidence in themselves. She believes that fostering self-worth and self-compassion is often at the heart of lasting emotional wellness.
Abby works with individuals ages 16 and older.
Abby is available for appointments Monday through Thursday.
In her spare time, Abby enjoys Zumba fitness, swimming, being out in nature, and spending time with her husband, friends, family, and her cats.
