is a graduate student at Ohio State University completing the Master of Social Work program there. She is working in supervision with Abby Sillaman, LISW-S

Lauren has previous professional experience in various treatment settings including inpatient psychiatric hospitalization, residential rehabilitation, and community-based non-profits. She has worked closely with folks in acute mental health crises ranging from anxiety, depression, and suicidal ideation to psychosis- as well as LGBTQIA+ clients, clients with intellectual and developmental disabilities, justice involved clients and unhoused clients.

Lauren’s areas of focus include anxiety, depression, the development of coping skills, processing trauma, and the LGBTQIA+ community.

Lauren approaches counseling from a strengths-based, trauma informed and person-centered perspective- utilizing mindfulness, and elements of CBT, and DBT.

Lauren views counseling as a collaboration between client and clinician. She feels that counseling is not one-size-fits-all and aims to empower clients to vocalize their needs so she may best support them to build their strengths and achieve their goals.

Lauren works with clients 18 and older and is available for appointments both in person, and via telehealth on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

In her free time, Lauren enjoys spending time outside, cooking, collecting vinyl records and snuggling with her two cats!

Ava Kramhoeller, SWT

she/her/hers

Ava is a current student at The Ohio State University working towards her Masters in Social work (MSW). Towards this goal, she is interning with Keller Counseling and is under the direct supervision of Abby Sillaman LISW-S. She has previous experience working in an intensive case management setting. In her role there, she worked with adults and older adults who experienced mental health conditions including depression, anxiety, and suicidal ideation. She has also worked with clients who experience a wide range of environmental stressors including homelessness, involvement in the justice system, family and relationship problems, and unemployment. In this setting, she utilized interventions including connecting clients with resources, education of tools and skills to help develop coping skills, empowerment and advocacy, identifying and building support systems, and problem solving and motivational interviewing.

Ava is interested in working with clients who are a part of the LGBTQIA+ community, with clients who experience anxiety and depression, helping clients develop coping skills and identify their supports and strengths.

Ava is interested in and utilizes components of CBT and DBT in her practice to approach counseling in a person centered and trauma informed way.

Ava views counseling as teamwork between client and counselor, and feels that counseling is a very personal, individualized journey for each client. She believes in the importance of the idea that each client is the master of their own personal and lived experiences, that they know themselves better than anyone, and carries this idea with her as a focal point in her practice. She believes every person has their own ingrained strengths, and she focuses on empowering clients to recognize and build these strengths, offering support during their journey, and ultimately collaborating with the client to use their strengths to help them meet their goals.

Ava works with clients 19 and older, and is available for appointments in person or via telehealth on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

In her free time, Ava enjoys crocheting, ceramics, going on walks, listening to podcasts, cooking, and spending time with her family and friends.
