Laurel Martin, LISW
Laurel Martin, LISW, is a licensed independent social worker. She earned her master's degree in Social Work from the Ohio State University. Laurel has experience working with treatment for eating disorders, depression, anxiety, stress, trauma, grief, and navigating difficult life transitions.
Laurel uses a strengths based and humanistic approach to counseling, and incorporates elements of Radically Open Dialectical Behavioral Therapy as well as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. She provides an atmosphere of empathy, support, and empowerment during the therapeutic process. Her therapeutic style includes bringing passion and care to each meeting, working as a collaborative team, taking notes to help keep track of therapeutic work, incorporating self-care as an essential skill, and encouraging authenticity and self-compassion.
Laurel is available for appointments Monday through Friday.
In her free time, Laurel enjoys reading, baking, practicing martial arts with her ninja friends, and going on outdoor adventures with her partner and her dog.
