Emotional Support Animal Assessment & Letters
With treatment, sometimes people find that they need an additional support outside of the therapy room in the form of an emotional support animal (ESA).
ESA assessment and letter completion is offered at Keller and is completed by Melissa Watson, LPCC-S and Celena Tunila, LPC. Celena is under Melissa’s supervision of these services.
Both Melissa and Celena are specially trained to provide the appropriate and necessary documentation that is required to have an ESA as required by the state of Ohio Counselor, Social Worker, and Marriage and Family Therapy (CSWMFT) board.
These providers only complete ESA letters for clients who are working with clinicians at Keller. They requires clients to be in regular therapy for 3+ months prior to completion of an ESA evaluation. This allows them to determine the appropriateness for an ESA that can go in conjunction with their active treatment plan. Also, the animal must already be established.
ESA assessments and letters are billed at an out of pocket cost (no insurance accepted for this service). They are typically completed in one 60 minute session.
We enjoy working with clients who utilize ESA’s for their coping plans and welcome this service to those who would benefit.
